Dr. Jayne LeGore
Trauma and Social Services Expert
Dedicated to serving children and their families, Dr. Jayne LeGore has worked with and helped thousands throughout her public education and human services careers.
She started in education as an Elementary Counselor. Jayne then served as an Elementary Principal in Red Lion Area School District (RLASD), Red Lion, PA. During her tenure several tragedies, including two shootings, occurred involving both her students and staff. Jayne chose to become a Crisis Responder trained by Cheri Lovre, nationally recognized crisis response and trauma interventionist.
After leaving public education Jayne joined Adams County Children and Youth Services, Gettysburg, PA, where she investigated allegations of child sexual and physical abuse. The agency selected her to attend the PA State Police Academy to become a certified ChildFirst Forensic Interviewer. Jayne also received specialized training to investigate Child Sex Trafficking and Exploitation cases. Emphasis was given to providing therapeutic support to those traumatized by this crime.
Jayne is now an Early Intervention Service Coordinator for York/Adams MH-IDD, York, PA. She works with developmentally-delayed children and their families from the day the children are born until the day before their 3rd birthdays. Since joining York County Jayne has taken six courses in trauma identification and response, including self-care. She also volunteered to take the training to be certified as a member of the county Pennsylvania Disaster Crisis Outreach and Referral Team (DCORT). Psychological First Aid is one of the required modules.
Jayne holds degrees from Dickinson College (Carlisle, PA), Bachelor of Arts Psychology; University of Virginia School of Education, Master of Education; and Temple University (Philadelphia, PA) Doctor of Education.
